Hello Guides!

This is our very first post!
Credits to Yan Ning for setting up this LJ! (:

Anyway!
This LJ is meant for all of you to check regularly for updates, announcements or any other urgent matters.
It'll really be helpful if you happen to forget to check the Guides Board.
But please do not ignore the Guides Board either, because we'll still post certain things on it!
Now that you have TWO places to check for updates, do not tell us during meetings that you forgot to
study/bring whatever/wear whatever.
THOSE EXCUSES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!
Please do make an effort to bring whatever we tell you to,
because if you don't, you might not  be able to do your testwork or activity!
So, make sure to check here for updates too!

NOTE: You will be able to comment on the posts if you are unsure of anything.
But please do not take it as a way of asking the CLs, PLs or PSs anything personal, okay?
We will only entertain related questions here!
And if you have any FURTHER questions about that week's meeting or anything,
you can also contact us at sacguides@gmail.com!

Love, Marie

Update (March 14 09): Also, please leave your name along with your question when you leave your comment.
From now on, comments with no names whatsoever left behind WILL NOT BE ANSWERED.
Thank You.

The Guide Motto

"Be Prepared"

The motto, "Be Prepared",shares the Founder’s initials and is a practical reminder of the educational purposes of Girl Guiding.

The Guide Law
  1. A Guide is loyal and can be trusted.
  2. A Guide is useful and helps others.
  3. A Guide is polite, considerate and respects her elders.
  4. A Guide is friendly and a sister to all Guides.
  5. A Guide is kind to all living things.
  6. A Guide is obedient.
  7. A Guide has courage and is cheerful in all difficulties.
  8. A Guide takes care of her own possessions and those of other people.
  9. A Guide is thrifty and diligent.
  10. A Guide is self-disciplined in what she thinks, says and does.
Guides, it'll be good if you can remember all these and carry them out everyday! :D

How To Tie Your Scarf!
[info]sacguides
This is how to fold and tie your guide scarf!
*Iron your scarf after every fold! :)
Step 1: Turn your scarf around and fold it like in the picture with at least three finger spacing between the top of the crest and the fold.

Step 2: flip the scarf around and ensure that there is still the 3 finger spacing and fold it into half.

Step 3: fold the scarf in thirds.

Step 4: Place long edge around neck and tie reef knot.
Step 5: Adjust scarf so that it is neat and tidy on both the front and back

How your uniform should be (Prep for Enrolement)
[info]sacguides

Patrol Emblem (Cirlcle one)- 12/13 cm below top of shirt. (Called the Epaulette) On the left.
Santinary Badge (Green oval above the white rectangle one)- 14 cm from top of shirt. On right.
Width of badges from buttons- right: abt 7cm, left is abt 6-7. (U judge for yourself [agar-agar :D])

(Note that right and left is according to when you are wearing)

Try to make the right and left alined. Like not too big a difference. Sew metall buttons onto both collars to hold it down when you wear the scarf.

Go ask your PLs and PSs if you have other qns! ( Leaders, also help me check if the dimentions are accurate, lol :))
